All eyes were on Milan this week as the city hosted LVMH Watch Week, the first major annual event on the horological calendar. Though sombre tidings preceded the weekend as Antoine Pin stepped down as CEO of Tag Heuer after a year and three months in the role, the week focused on major releases – nearly all from celebrated staple collections – from all of the active watch brands in the LVMH family. Here are some of the highlights.
Bulgari

After making waves last year at Watches and Wonders by releasing the Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon, the thinnest ever example of the complication at 1.85mm, Bulgari focused on high jewellery watches this year. The Maglia Milanese Monete is a secret watch evoking the Monete collection from the 1960s and inspired by an ancient coin depicting Emperor Caracalla. The piece is powered by the Piccolissimo BVP100 movement and features an elaborate Milanese mesh bracelet made with meticulously interlaced gold threads for ultimate fit and comfort.

The new Tubogas Manchette is a show-stopper that wraps around the wrist with a wide, bold gold bracelet set with vibrant diamonds and gemstones. The piece is powered by the BVS 100 Lady Solotempo automatic movement, which debuted at LVMH Watch Week last year.

Bulgari also unveiled two limited edition versions of the Lvcea Notte di Luce in collaboration with urushi lacquer master Yasuhiro Asai, each featuring dials finished with urushi black lacquerwork and mother-of-pearl, and housed in a two-toned steel and rose gold case and bracelet.
