The latest 35mm models are studded with more than 1,400 diamonds and come with a choice of a gem-set bracelet and two straps
Presented in a refined 35mm case, these new editions are crafted in either 18k white gold or 18k 5N pink gold, and fully set with diamonds from case to bracelet. Each watch features more than 1,400 stones, totalling almost 12.6 carats, applied with restraint and symmetry. Rather than overpowering the design, the gem-setting enhances the recognisable Overseas silhouette, allowing the watch to retain its confident, contemporary character.
The bezel is a particular highlight. Its iconic Maltese cross-inspired form is accentuated by 60 baguette-cut diamonds, invisibly set to create a seamless, architectural line of light. This technique, one of the most demanding in jewellery craftsmanship, ensures that the stones appear suspended, uninterrupted by visible metal. The bracelet follows with a mix of baguette and brilliant-cut diamonds, each individually set to preserve flexibility and comfort on the wrist.
The dial also exhibits this meticulous approach. Snow-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, it creates a soft, even surface of light, while baguette-cut diamond hour markers provide structure and legibility. Subtle details – from the precise finishing to the balanced proportions – underscore Vacheron Constantin’s ability to present opulence with a touch of grace.
Beneath the sparkle lies the manufacture calibre 1088/1, a self-winding movement offering a 40-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire caseback, it is finished to the standards expected of the maison, complete with a 22k gold oscillating weight engraved with a compass rose – a quiet nod to the Overseas collection’s nautical and explorational roots.
True to the line’s adaptable nature, each watch is delivered with three interchangeable options: a gem-set gold bracelet, a coloured alligator leather strap and a white rubber strap. The quick-change system allows effortless transitions between looks, reinforcing the idea that high jewellery can still be wearable.
