LVMH Watch Week showed off Louis Vuitton and Bulgari timepieces, while Jennifer Lawrence and Timothée Chalamet shone at the Golden Globes

The year is off to a running start for the world of high horology. LVMH, as always, kicks things off with a monumental LVMH Watch Week featuring nine brands and their stellar releases. Meanwhile, corporate moves abounded as Frederique Constant was named official timekeeper for Pro Padel League, and Richemont shook hands with the Damiani Group for the latter to acquire Baume et Mercier.

Major releases include “reverse panda” Omega Speedmaster models and a Russian watch with a wood case operated by key – while vintage and independent watchmaking dominated the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

Here are your major timepiece moments for January 2026.

The conglomerate hosted the seventh edition of its eponymous watch week in Milan, for which its eight watchmaking brands (and one clockmaker!) pulled out all the stops. Though the week was preceded by the announcement of Antoine Pin’s departure as CEO of Tag Heuer, the week celebrated some of the best first releases of 2026. Daniel Roth unveiled a skeletonised piece, Bulgari leaned heavily into high jewellery, Gérald Genta went time-only, while Louis Vuitton got complicated with the Escale.

It’s a month of firsts as Swiss watchmaker Frederique Constant becomes the official timekeeper of the Pro Padel League. The league brings together professionals from teams in the US, Canada and Mexico to compete in one of the fastest-growing sports in the world – a close cousin to pickleball.

According to WWD, Frederique Constant’s branding will be seen on all timekeeping elements such as match clocks, countdowns and more. The brand will also release a PPL-branded watch later in the year.
