The event will feature antique and contemporary timepieces alongside artworks by famous artists

Swiss luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet’s latest exhibition takes you on a journey through 140 years of the brand’s history, its unique watchmaking craftsmanship and its passion for contemporary art. The exhibition, titled “To Break the Rules, You Must First Master Them”, will take place at the Yuz Museum in Shanghai from October 28 to November 13. The exhibition venue, designed by French designer Mathieu Lehanneur, is an architectural installation in the form of a large-scale ring with a copper finish. In the middle of the ring is a rock created from cast replicas of rocks from the house’s home in Vallée de Joux. About 200 timepieces, including antique and contemporary creations curated by Audemars Piguet’s museum director, Sébastian Vivas, will be on display, along with artworks by renowned artists such as Cheng Ran, Dan Holdsworth and Alexandre Joly. The exhibition will tour around the world to other art capitals from
2017 onwards.
