Bouchra Jarrar brings Lanvin to the forefront at Paris fashion week

Bouchra Jarrar's debut for Lanvin didn't disappoint. The new creative director for the fashion house has blended her own aesthetics perfectly with the know-how of Lanvin.

Jarrar's signature feathered gilets, sleek leather jackets and love for the monochrome palette are evident throughout the collection, and seem to embody the very essence of the house of Lanvin.

The choice of venue for the show - the Hôtel de Ville - represented the opening of a new chapter for Lanvin under Jarrar’s creative oversight.

The show featured a sleek ensemble of pantsuits matching a short jacket in ivory silk satin worn on top of a satin shirt dress and trousers with navy blue fluid stripes that showcased Jarrar’s new definition of Lanvin dressing.

The house’s signature cocktail and evening dresses were presented in the form of a cool chiffon kilt with asymmetrical pleats as well as some feminine gowns with low-cut necklines accentuated by gold chain necklaces. Jarrar has reintroduced a necklace whose fabric resembles that of a tie from the house’s archives, and has reincorporated it as a modern piece of jewellery into the wardrobes of new Lanvin women.

To match with the perfectly tailored pantsuits, Jarrar dressed the models in flat slip-ons heavily embellished with crystals.

Celebrity models Karlie Kloss (who joined the designer at the finale as she took a bow), Liu Wen and Jourdan Dunn walked the runway at the show.
