The dress Marilyn Monroe wore when she crooned “Happy Birthday, Mr President” to the late John F. Kennedy will be on the auction block again on November 17 in Los Angeles at Julien’s Auctions. Fans will have the opportunity to view the dress at the auction house from November 11 to 19.

Monroe’s sultry undertones and her inimitable style immediately destined her rendition of the otherwise wholesome song for the history books and to be memorialised in numerous pop culture references. Part of the equation was her stunning dress – a nude-coloured gown studded with more than 2,500 crystals that sparkled every time she moved. It was so tight that she had to be sewn into it.

The gown, which was previously auctioned for US$1.27 million back in 1999, is expected to go for US$2 million to US$3 million. Other personal belongings of the sex symbol will also be on auction from November 17 to 19.
