Virgil Abloh’s Louis Vuitton appointment inspired this Nike Air Jordan 1
‘Off-Louis’ sneaker costing US$4,000 celebrates Abloh’s new position as artistic director of LV’s menswear collection
To celebrate Virgil Abloh’s recent appointment as Louis Vuitton’s menswear designer, New York-based artist Ceeze, Relevant Customs and Richie Range have teamed up for a special-edition Air Jordan 1 sneaker.
The “Off-Louis” custom features Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram across its upper, with a complementary tonal brown colourway.
Other features of the sneaker are reminiscent of Abloh’s own Air Jordan 1 collaboration with Nike, including detailing on the medial side inspired by signature Off-White branding and exposed stitching on the Swoosh.
The custom also features the designer’s hallmark quotation marks, with “LOUIS” appearing on the midsole. Only 10 pairs of the sneaker have been produced and are available from Ceeze’s website for US$4,000 on April 14.
