With Season 2 of Netflix and Marvel’s superhero series Iron Fist coming out, let’s take a look at why we love actress Jessica Henwick, who plays martial artist Colleen Wing in the show.

You might also remember her in Game of Thrones as Nymeria Sand or in The Defenders, but regardless of what roles you have seen her play on screen, she’s a very lovable person – and here’s why.

1. She’s a hufflepuff!

For the Harry Potter lovers out there, you’ll know what we mean.

For those who aren’t, Hufflepuff is probably the most inclusive among the four houses at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and its values hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play.

Henwick is adorably dressed up as a Hogwarts student – and she has also mentioned a desire to star in any Harry Potter films if given the opportunity.

2. She’s a toughie

If you have watched her in Iron Fist, you’ll know what a fantastic fighter her character, Wing, is. Instead of getting a stunt double, she does her own stunts and fight scenes.

Henwick also chose to not mention an injury and powered through.

With training in martial arts and Krav Maga – an Israeli military self-defence and fighting system – and the bruises and muscle tears to prove it, turns out she has always been fighting hard for her roles.

Toughie? Yes, she sure is.

3. She’s got comedic timing down pat

She may be an amazing fighter, but that does not mean she hasn’t got a sense of humour!

With her post about training to get ready for the second season of Iron Fist, she captions it with a quirky little monologue that got us chuckling.

4. She’s proud and supportive of her heritage

Although she was born and raised in Surrey, her mother is Singaporean Chinese, and her father is Zambian-English.

She has shown an amazing amount of support for the recent Crazy Rich Asians film, and has talked in the past about increasing Asian-American representation in Hollywood.

5. She’s got style

Her red carpet or premiere outfits are always on point, and she looked fabulous in the Kenzo film Yo! My Saint.
