The Koeniggsegg Regera costs more than a Lamborghini – and it's now available in Hong Kong
Features such as direct drive transmission and touch-operated ‘autoskin’ make this luxury hybrid a sure-fire winner as it prepares to debut in Hong Kong
The Koenigsegg Regera is due to make its Hong Kong debut after the Swedish megacar manufacturer recently appointed Kingsway K Cars as its official dealer for southern China. The Regera was created as a luxurious hybrid alternative to Koenigsegg’s traditional race-type roadsters. Still incorporating astounding speeds, thanks to its powerful twin-turbo V8 combustion engine, the Regera hybrid offers a combined 1,500 horsepower and over 2,000 Nm of torque.
The core of any Koenigsegg megacar is its internal combustion engine (ICE). Notably, the Regera’s ICE is the most downsized homologated production in the world, meaning you get all the speed in its most compact, lightweight form. Drivers can also indulge in the patent-pending Koenigsegg direct drive transmission, which removes the traditional gearbox to offer even more driving efficiency.
The Regera is also the first fully-robotised car, using the touch-operated system “autoskin”. Groundbreaking lightweight hydraulic technology allows the Regera to automate all doors and the bonnet and the boot with sophisticated soft-closing mechanisms.
