Louis Vuitton and Hennessy create the ultimate cognac trunk – yours for US$273,000

The finely crafted and innovative Hennessy Paradis Impérial Trunk is a tribute to the ‘art of travel’
WHAT: Louis Vuitton Hennessy Paradis Impérial
HOW MUCH: US$273,000
WHY: The Hennessy Paradis Impérial cognac was released in 2011 and commemorates eight successive generations of the Fillioux family of master blenders.
Maison Hennessy commissioned internationally acclaimed artist and industrial designer Arik Levy to create a fitting new decanter for the unique cognac. Louis Vuitton amplified the triumph of Levy’s design with an immense Hennessy Paradis Impérial Trunk.
To call it a “trunk” might be an understatement. It is everything one might expect from the French luxury house: technical innovation, exceptional style and the finest craftsmanship, all in the name of the “Art of Travel”.
In fact, the Hennessy Paradis Impérial Trunk acts more as a mobile bar than simply a handsome leather chest, designed to hold four magnums of Hennessy Paradis Impérial – and create the most opulent ambience.
When Levy designed Hennessy’s new contemporary decanter, he also included a “special presentation ritual” that featured gloves, crystal vials, a corolla for pouring and crystal tulip glasses for tasting.
“To tell the story of Hennessy Paradis Impérial, I investigated and found inspiration in Hennessy’s DNA,” says Levy, who worked with master crystal cutters to enhance the cognac’s golden hue.
This ritual is unfolded in the luxurious Louis Vuitton trunk, allowing you to pour, measure and taste the cognac off its immaculate compartments and shelving.
