Stranger Things season 3, and 4 other shows to look out for on Netflix in July

- From established hits like Orange is the New Black to new Korean dramas, don’t miss these shows on Netflix this July
In many countries summer is the time to escape the house, enjoy the great outdoors and soak up some rays. Not so here in Hong Kong. The summer is a killer, whether it is the high temperatures or the seasonal typhoons. It is just easier to stay indoors at this time of the year, enjoying the AC.
Luckily for us, July is just around the corner and a whole slew of new Netflix shows is just about to drop. Here are five you should not miss.
Stranger Things, season 3
Top of our list is Netflix’s biggest sci-fi/horror hit. In a departure from tradition, the newest season of Stranger Things arrives on July 4, rather than around Halloween, as in the previous two years. Set in the summer of 1985, Will, Noah, Mike, Dustin and Eleven return again to face off against the sinister beings of the Upside Down. Cast and crew have been tight-lipped about what to expect, though Natalia Dyer, who plays Nancy Wheeler, promises the new episodes are “bigger, darker, [and] scarier” than everything that has come before.
Orange is the New Black, season 7
Another eagerly awaited new season comes from Orange is the New Black. Sadly, this is the final outing for the hugely popular prison drama. Expected to be released on July 26, this is your last chance to bond with the inmates of Litchfield Penitentiary. What happens now – season 6 spoilers ahead – that Piper Kerman has been released from prison is anyone’s guess. Although it is likely the series will focus on Piper’s return to civilian life, we expect to see plenty of the remaining inmates and conclusions to their arcs.
