Dior shows luxurious dark side with Ultra Black accessory collection at Fall 2019 Couture Show
The fashion brand’s classic designs presented in Paris include matt calfskin saddle shoulder bags, belt pouches and Lady Dior in smooth matt Cannage calfskin
To Christian Dior, Ultra Black is the new black. For its Fall 2019 Couture Show, presented at its historic maison at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris, artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri concentrated the collection’s colour solely on black to avoid distracting attention away from the designs.
Part of the venue, a fantastical scenography created by feminist artist Penny Slinger, was decorated in shades of midnight darkness.

In the most saturated hue and purest form of black, the capsule collection featured some of the house’s classics, including the saddle shoulder bag, belt pouch and flap wallets in matt calfskin, Lady Dior in smooth matt Cannage calfskin, as well as Diorama in black Archicannage matt calfskin.
The series is finished with tone-on-tone hardware produced by a spray finish on both the jewellery and the leather.
