A high-profile event with a laid-back ethos, the VMAs entice the biggest stars to unleash their wildest styles – take a closer look at the hottest dressed celebs and biggest fashion fails on the red carpet in 2019
The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) are firmly etched into the pop culture calendar as a high-profile event with a laid-back ethos – attracting the biggest stars while enticing A-listers to park inhibitions and rock their most outlandish styles.
Hosted by Sebastian Maniscalco, at New Jersey’s Prudential Center on August 26, the 2019 ceremony proved to be no exception.
This year, we noticed stars opting for more casual styles rather than voluminous gowns, as well as plenty of skin-bearing outfits, some playful gender-fluid statements, and a fair share of epic fashion fails best forgotten.
To start off with, let’s take a look at the stars that have struck high fashion notes:
When the Hadid sisters walk a red carpet, you should expect something enchanting. Gigi Hadid looked effortlessly cool in a Tom Ford ensemble and Lorraine Schwartz jewels, while Bella Hadid showed off her toned body in a striking two-piece with suspenders.
Taylor Swift was dressed by Atelier Versace – from her red carpet appearance to her later onstage performances. The Video of the Year winner walked in wearing a custom-made, printed jacket bedecked with Swarovski crystals, on top of a pink crop top featuring an inverted sweetheart neckline and matching shorts.
She finished the look with knee-high Christian Louboutin boots. An excellent style example of how to dress from day into night.
The Jonas brothers all looked typically stylish donning Fendi.
