What does Game of Thrones have to do with the British actress, who plays the youngest March sister in Little Women?

The year 2019 was a great one for British actress Florence Pugh, who skyrocketed into mainstream success in two blockbuster films. In Midsommar she plays a troubled young woman travelling to Sweden who encounters a pagan-cult, while she stars as the youngest March sister in Greta Gerwig’s beloved adaptation of Little Women. With her rocking style on the red carpet, a no-nonsense attitude, and an Oscar nomination only at the age of 24, Florence Pugh is undoubtedly a star in the making.

She lived in Spain for several years

Born in Oxford to a restaurateur father and a dance teacher mother, Florence moved to Andalusia in Spain for three years with her family. “I’m so happy I had that childhood – in and out of the sea naked, cycling down the road in my knickers, and bartering with the sweet shop owner,” she said in an interview with The Guardian.

She suffered from tracheomalacia as a child

The Pughs moved to Spain in search of a warmer climate with the hope of improving young Florence’s health. It has been reported that since an early age, Florence suffers from a severe respiratory condition called tracheomalacia and spent much time in hospitals. However, her condition improved and now she is left with “a very scary cough” and a cool, raspy voice.
