The Moncler Genius program saw some eclectic personalities gather under the blazing desert sun – but what was the outcome?

Word on the street is Rick Owens is collaborating with Moncler for the most sculptural, grungy-glamorous down garments you will ever see. Moncler is no stranger to attracting the world’s hottest designers, like Simone Rocha, Craig Green and, most recently, JW Anderson, through its Moncler Genius project.

Perhaps fittingly for the avant-garde designer, Owens began his partnership with Moncler in the most unconventional way. He set about customising a tour bus that he used to travel to artist Michael Heizer’s remote ranch in Nevada.

With his wife Michèle Lamy, the 58-year-old took the opportunity to view Heizer’s large-scale land art pieces scattered across the Nevada desert.

The tour bus project was unveiled at Moncler’s Genius launch event in Milan in February and will be available to order. As for a Moncler x Rick Owens ready-to-wear collection, we can only wait with bated breath.
