If you are a racing car fan, you might be wondering what car Ferrari will be using for its highly anticipated 1,000th Formula One Grand Prix. On February 12, Ferrari presented design code 671, its 66th racing car built to participate in Formula One, in Reggio Emilia, Italy. At first glance, the new Ferrari resembles the 2019 model as the regulations have not changed much since last year. But engineers have spent a significant amount of time over autumn and winter to redesign the car to enhance the aerodynamic downforce and balance. How does Ferrari manage to retain its sexy mystique? The SF1000 shows how Ferrari stepped forward in optimising the combustion efficiency of its engine with a new design and fuel intake to create more horsepower when the limiter speeds up to 15,000rpm. Over the next month, Ferrari will show the impact of its new turbocharger and energy recovery system that it will test during preseason in Barcelona. The focus of the design is to make it as compact as possible. The SF1000 will be presented in the first race of the year in Melbourne this month. Want more stories like this? Sign up here .
