After playing the polarised, messiah-complex Daenerys Targaryen, the 33-year-old actress went on to star in winter 2019’s feel-good film Last Christmas (which banked US$121 million), and will soon be seen onstage in an upcoming production of Chekhov’s The Seagull, at London’s Playhouse Theatre, her first West End production.
