Here’s what we know about the second child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

She’s fourth in line to the British throne, making royal history

Traditionally, the males of the royal family inherited the British throne before their older sisters (Princess Charlotte has a younger brother, Prince Louis, aged two). But, in 2015, the Perth Agreement came into force, which meant that males would no longer take precedence in the line of succession.

For the first time in royal history, a princess has dibs on the throne before her younger brother. This means that Princess Charlotte is fourth in line to the throne, following her older brother, Prince George, aged six. Prince George follows Charles, the Prince of Wales, and his father, the Duke of Cambridge, as heir apparent.

She’s got a little of Lady Diana in her name
