She’s fourth in line to the British throne, making royal history
Traditionally, the males of the royal family inherited the British throne before their older sisters (Princess Charlotte has a younger brother, Prince Louis, aged two). But, in 2015, the Perth Agreement came into force, which meant that males would no longer take precedence in the line of succession.
For the first time in royal history, a princess has dibs on the throne before her younger brother. This means that Princess Charlotte is fourth in line to the throne, following her older brother, Prince George, aged six. Prince George follows Charles, the Prince of Wales, and his father, the Duke of Cambridge, as heir apparent.
