The next Tiger Woods is an Asian female model – meet Lily Muni He, the Chinese Instagram influencer and LPGA star the internet is crazy for

Born in Chengdu, Sichuan, but based in California, the 20-year-old may be turning heads and calling clicks with her good looks and smart IG posts, but make no mistake – this rising star is a force to be reckoned with on the greens
With more than 290,000 followers on Instagram, Muni He, also going by the name of Lily, is not your ordinary Instagram model. While it may be true that scrolling her feed reveals both her great body and trendy style, her first love is golf.
The 20-year-old from China is not all pose and shoot. It might sound clichéd, but Muni He grew up surrounded by golf and luckily for the sporting world, she pursued it hard. We know from her Instagram posts that her father is one of the reasons behind her budding golf career, posting, “Wow thank you @golfdigest China for the August cover. Used to flip through every issue of my dad’s collection growing up”.
Hailing from Chengdu, Sichuan, Muni He’s family moved from China to Vancouver, then afterwards to San Diego, California, while she was in middle school. She became a pro after her first year at the University of Southern California, aged only 19.
Her golf career
Muni He, like all golf prodigies, started young. “It’s crazy to think that 10 years ago I was a part of the HSBC junior program and now I’m here competing alongside the best women golfers in the world,” reads one post. You do the maths – she was only nine years old when she joined the program.
And it wasn't all rainbows and butterflies for her either. She struggled, like all rookies. She missed the cut for the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters in 2016 – but then won the 2018 Symetra Tour. She qualified for the 2019 LPGA Tour, after her Q-Series in 2018, and has earned her LPGA Tour card for 2020.
