5 things to know about K-pop’s NU’EST, as the boy band readies for their May comeback

The group is gearing up for their comeback this May 11 with their 8th mini album The Nocturne with a concept website that includes special puzzles for fans
NU’EST – or New, Establish, Style, Tempo – is a 5-piece group consisting of leader JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren. Hailing from Pledis Entertainment, the company’s first boy group debuted in 2012 with their single, Face, and celebrated their 8th-year anniversary last March 15.
The group is gearing up for their comeback this May 11 with their 8th mini album The Nocturne, and released a concept website which leads to a counting hourglass with four blank boxes, that includes special puzzles that fans can decipher to know more about the comeback. NU’EST also released cinematic trailers for each member on their YouTube page, along with teaser images.
While waiting for their comeback, here are five things you should know about Pledis Entertainment’s boy group.
The members take part in songwriting
NU’EST shares their passion for music through participating in songwriting for their albums. The group has been involved with their music since their third mini album, Sleep Talking, and has since continued sending their messages to fans through their songs. Member Baekho is known to be the main music arranger and lyricist of the group, and has gained recognition for his talent among fans.
They love to ‘change rules’ when playing games
The group has shared their thoughts of being “the worst in playing games” in some of their videos because it’s either they lose the game or they can’t understand the mechanics to win it. Yet, they still create ways to win. In one of their L.O.Λ.E Story episodes, NU’EST was meant to guess words correlated to a given set of letters with a game of charades. In the middle of the game, the group brilliantly “changed the rules” to complete the game by giving each other words to act, thus winning the game.
