Like many of us during the coronavirus lockdown, first lady Melania Trump has been doing a little DIY around the house – the White House, that is

In three months time, first lady Melania Trump may or may not still call the White House her home. But that hasn’t stopped her from continuing to make more changes to the most protected place in America, with recent news of her Rose Garden renovations. Indeed, she has done a lot with the place since moving in January 2017.

She welcomed several children whose parents work for the Secret Service to enjoy the newly renovated White House bowling alley in May 2019.

Modernised wiring, a new interior along with the restoration of the Nixon administration-installed wooden lane, are among the things that were changed. The Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America was said to have funded the restoration.

The red room

It can’t be called a red room if the wallpaper isn’t red.

Melania had the wallpaper refreshed to a deeper shade as it was fading because of the continuous exposure to sunlight. The red room is one of the three state parlours in the White House that often receives important diplomats and officials of other countries.

The green room draperies

Even lavish curtains need to be updated now and then.
