Royal baby bonanza! Zara Tindall has her baby ‘on the bathroom floor’ just weeks after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announce they’re expecting a girl, and Princess Eugenie gives birth to her first child

- Queen Elizabeth’s eldest granddaughter and former Olympic equestrian Zara didn’t make it to hospital, instead giving birth at home with the help of husband Mike
- The couple have named the baby boy Lucas Philip in a tribute to Prince Philip and rugby player Mike Tindall’s father, Philip Tindall
Queen Elizabeth’s 10th great-grandchild is here: Zara Tindall, the queen’s eldest granddaughter, has welcomed her third child, a boy, with husband Mike.
“Sunday got even better because a little baby boy arrived at my house,” Mike said on March 23’s episode of his podcast The Good, The Bad and The Rugby, recapping his weekend.
The baby arrived “very quickly”, he noted – Zara “didn’t make it to the hospital” and delivered him “on the bathroom floor”.
“She was a warrior, as always,” Mike, 42, said of his wife, 39.
“It was running to the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom, get the mat on the floor, towels down, brace, brace, brace,” he recalled. “Fortunately the midwife who was going to meet us at the hospital wasn’t that far away, so she drove up, got there just as we had assumed the [position], and the second midwife arrived just after the head had arrived.”
“The queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news and look forward to meeting their 10th great-grandchild when circumstances allow,” Buckingham Palace said.
