EVENT BOUCHERON 26 VENDÔME HIGH JEWELLERY SHOW
WHERE PLACE VENDÔME, PARIS
Happenings: Inspired by nature, architecture and haute couture, Boucheron's latest high-jewellery collection boasts innovative creations by creative director Claire Choisne. The collection is inspired by nature, art deco architecture as well as haute couture. One of the masterpieces is a cape rendered in gold called Cape de Lumiere. The jeweller enlisted fashion curator Olivier Saillard to choreograph a live performance showcasing the designs. The collection was unveiled at the maison's private salons at 26 Place Vendôme.

Can you tell us your inspiration for the collection?
Part of the inspiration came from the art-deco architecture of Hotel Particulier.
How do you translate that into actual designs?
First you have to imagine the scenery and then work out the different layers.
You have created a golden cape this time. What were the challenges?
I was worried about the weight but we managed to weave the gold into chains.
How did Boucheron's craftsmen enjoy the challenge?
When they eventually succeeded, they were so happy.
