Burberry Hong Kong commemorated the launch of “The Tale of Thomas Burberry” short film last Thursday night with a star-studded event at its Pacific Place flagship store to showcase its atelier and heritage. The stars of the night included singer Kelly Chen, models Amanda S and Gaile Lok and stylist Mayao Ma.
The event featured a comprehensive and personalised shopping experience. The Scarf Bar provided customised alphabet and symbols sewing services for Burberry scarves, while the handbag station offered hand-lettering services for the brand’s the Bridle, the Banner and the Bucket bag.
The house’s attention to detail could be seen even in the gift wrappers, which took inspiration from Burberry’s signature honey-coloured trench coat. Guests were also welcome to request for customised gift cards.
Directed by Asif Kapadia, the 3-minute trailer-style film “The Tale of Thomas Burberry” powerfully narrates Burberry’s brand history and encapsulates all of its core values. With Domhnall Gleeson as Thomas Burberry and Sienna Miller as his fictional first love, the film has been well-received on the internet.
