Nation’s film stars dress in elegant, understated monochrome fashions for the cameras as they turn out for French Riviera’s most glamorous event of the year

Asian actors and actresses, including Cannes Film Festival jury member Fan Bingbing, Miao Miao and Aaron Kwok – who are both starring in Chinese director Wang Yang’s suspense drama June – are also turning heads on the red carpet.

Miao Miao, the 29 year-old actress who plays the female lead in June, opts for a safe, elegant black number. We love how the chequered and lace details add pizazz to the classic hue.
Long flowing gowns are the order of the day on the Cannes red carpet – and, turning heads as usual, Fan turned up the heat with this sparkly, long-sleeved dress designed by Ralph & Russo.
Chinese actress Zhao Tao also opted for a classic black-and-white ensemble – adding an elegant touch with her sapphire and diamond earrings.
