K-pop giant BTS ready to wow Billboard Music Awards with world premier of new single

K-pop group BTS is a contender for a second successive Top Social Artist award at this year’s Billboard Music Awards.

Uber hot K-pop outfit BTS has a busy schedule in the United States this month. Soompi reports that the seven-member South Korean group was seen at Incheon airport waiting for a flight to Los Angeles.

It was earlier reported that the group will attend the Billboard Music Awards on May 20. BTS attended the event for the first time last year, and won the Top Social Artist award. It has been nominated for the same award this year.

It will be the first time a K-pop group has performed at the BBMAs. BTS releases a new album “Love Yourself: Tear” today, and perform the world premiere of its new single, which has got fans excited.


The 2018 BBMAs, to be hosted by Kelly Clarkson, will also feature performances by Janet Jackson, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato and Dua Lipa.

BTS’ previous album “Love Yourself: Her” reached No 7 on the Billboard 200 chart last November.

The group’s Mic Drop remix with Steve Aoki and Desiigner was its first song to crack the Top 40 of the Hot 100, peaking at No 28.


That track and DNA have both been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The group will appear on the Ellen DeGeneres Show for a second time to promote its upcoming album.
