Lady Gaga: 5 things you need to know about the Oscar winner

The American singer-actress, who won the Academy Award for best original song on Sunday, says she has had panic attacks in supermarkets and began to study acting at the age of 11
A star is born. Actually, she was born on March 28, 1986, as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known to most of us as Lady Gaga.
The American singer, songwriter and actress is now an Oscar winner, having bagged the best original song award for the song Shallow, from the movie A Star Is Born, at the Oscars on Sunday.
She also won three Grammy Awards at the 2019 Grammys earlier this month – for best pop solo performance for Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?), best pop duo/group performance with Bradley Cooper for Shallow, and also best song written for visual media for Shallow .
You might know about her many achievements, but how well do you know the star? Here are five things that only diehard fans would know:
1. She used to have panic attacks in supermarkets
“[Fame] is extremely isolating,” Lady Gaga has admitted previously. “The thing I like least about it is that I no longer have real human experiences in society when I go out into the world.
“Whether I’m in a bar, a club, a restaurant or a bookstore – I simply cannot have a normal conversation with someone I happen to meet. I really love people, they inspire me. And when I’m working on my music, I always try to feel what it is that really moves people. But the more famous I become, the more difficult it’s been to hold onto this feeling because I no longer get to meet people [in a normal way].
“I’ve accepted it for what it is. Before, when I went to a supermarket and there were paparazzi everywhere, I would get panic attacks, and I would be crying. I couldn’t even get out of my car.
