Exclusive: ‘It’s difficult to be graceful’ – South Korean actress Song Hye-kyo on her new video for Chaumet

The Parisian jewellery house’s ambassador in Asia-Pacific, known as the star of Encounters, says she loves to dress up for events
South Korean actress Song Hye-kyo has been in the headlines quite a lot over the past few days.
She has had to deal with everything from rumours over her marriage to actor Song Joong-ki to excitement over a suspected new drama role, but she seems to have turned her back firmly on gossip and is focusing instead on her work – specifically her new collaboration with Chaumet.

The renowned Parisian jewellery maison has just launched a new video starring the actress, the brand’s ambassador in Asia-Pacific, and we’ve included some sneak previews for you here:
Song goes through her closet of dresses (which look remarkably similar) in search of what to wear with her Joséphine Aigrette stackable rings, which thankfully have more variety to them.
On goes a tiara and the transformation is complete – Song, now with her hair up and in a blue evening gown, is dressed to impress with the Joséphine Aigrette Impériale necklace.
Song, best known for her work in hit South Korean television dramas, such as Encounters and Descendants of the Sun, also tells us about her thoughts on jewellery, art, media exposure and how beauty might come naturally, but grace does not.
What’s your personal style when it comes to jewellery?
Normally, I dress casually – I like simple clothes and style. I prefer smaller earrings with details on them [when I’m dressed casually]. Today, however, I’m shooting an advertisement and am happy to have the opportunity to wear large, sparkling and beautiful pieces.
