It has been nearly three decades since the blockbuster animated film Aladdin was released in 1992. Disney’s 2019 live-action adaptation of the same name was released on May 24 internationally and has done wonders at the box office. According to Box Office Mojo, the musical has raked in more than US$454 million (as of June 5) worldwide and is the third-highest grossing movie in the United States this year, beaten only by Avengers: Endgame (US$815 million) and Captain Marvel (US$426 million).
