While it is sad that Disney axed Li Shang from the 2020 release of Mulan, many will be excited by the prospect of watching the on-screen romance unfold between Mulan (played by Liu Yifei) and Chen Honghui (played by Yoson An).
Yoson’s part is expected to be a breakout role for the 27-year-old who appeared in HBO Asia’s horror miniseries Grace. The Macau-born, New Zealand-raised actor doesn’t have much presence on social media with only 5,500 Instagram followers, but fans are sure to be swooning after they see him kicking butt in the Mulan live-action remake.
