Happenings: Louis Vuitton has unveiled “Louis Vuitton X”, an exhibition showcasing the maison’s 160-year history of creative exchanges and artistic collaborations. The exhibition opening marked the world premiere of the Artycapucines collection – original Capucines bags reinterpreted by six leading contemporary artists: Sam Falls, Urs Fischer, Nicholas Hlobo, Alex Israel, Tschabalala Self and Jonas Wood.

Over 180 items from Louis Vuitton’s archives and scenography are on display. The exhibition comprises nine rooms with different themes. It boasts a remarkable collection of early 20th century bespoke trunks, beautiful art deco perfume bottles and window displays commissioned and designed by Louis Vuitton’s grandson, Gaston-Louis Vuitton.

In addition, the brand’s iconic monogram bags – reworked by renowned artists and designers such as the late Karl Lagerfeld, Rei Kawakubo, Cindy Sherman and Frank Gehry – and original collaborations and commissions by artists including Yayoi Kusama and Richard Prince, and the late architect Zaha Hadid, are featured.

Influencers and celebrities who made an appearance at the exhibition opening included Miranda Kerr, Hailee Steinfeld, Jaden Smith, Millie Bobby Brown, Grayson Dolan, Jennifer Connelly and Alicia Vikander.
