Rita Ora and her husband Taika Waititi have had a lot to celebrating to do as of late.

Not only did the loved-up couple celebrate their first wedding anniversary on August 4, they’ve also been partying up a storm for Waititi’s 48th birthday on August 16.

The couple first met at a house party at the New Zealand filmmaker’s Los Angeles home in 2018, but only started dating in 2021 while both were filming in Australia. Since then, they’ve became one of the most stylish new couples on the red carpet, living their best lives together while showing off their luxury lifestyles and adventures on social media.

Let’s take a closer look at their OTT celebrations and luxury life together.

When the couple secretly tied the knot in August 2022, there was much speculation on how and where it took place, but Ora and Waititi opted to keep the details private – until now.

When they celebrated their first anniversary, they finally shared their wedding photos with American Vogue. “It wasn’t in London or in France like everyone reported,” Waititi clarified. “It was in LA with a small group of friends.”

On the style front, Ora wore a Tom Ford dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery for the secret ceremony. “Tom Ford is one of my favourite designers of all time and favourite humans in general,” Ora told Vogue. “He’s now one of my close friends, and I adore and admire him so much. To get married in his dress was a dream come true.”

Serendipitously, the dress itself was actually not planned as the ceremony was so last minute. Instead, Ora got it straight off a shop shelf. “I just took the risk and went to the Tom Ford shop, and they had it perfectly waiting with the veil, in my size, no alterations needed to be done. I mean, it was like it was meant to be, to be honest,” she revealed.

The lavish birthday celebration

Ora set her Instagram alight as she showed off at a yacht party with her husband and friends in Ibiza. Hosted by film and TV producer Klemens Hallmann, the flashy party celebrated Waititi’s 48th birthday, with a guest list that included actors Jodie Turner-Smith and Joel Edgerton, The Pussycat Dolls’ Ashley Roberts and British singer Jess Glynne, per OK!

Photos showed the guests being treated to an exclusive menu by private chef Andrea Colecchia paired with curated cocktails by Prospero Tequila and 71 Gin. Of course, Ora also shared a series of romantic photos with her husband on Instagram to mark his big day.

Living fashionably

The Kosovo-born beauty, 32, may have had a modest start in life, but these days she’s very much used to the finer things in life. In fact, Ora has represented and collaborated with plenty of brands since she first launched her singing career over a decade ago.

In 2011, she endorsed Calvin Klein’s CK One line in a marketing campaign, and in 2013, she worked with Madonna and became the new face for her Material Girl clothing line. That same year, she partnered with Rimmel to promote two cosmetic queues.

By 2014, she promoted two different fashion lines by designer Donna Karan and endorsed the perfume DKNY My NY. She ended that year as an ambassador for Roberto Cavalli’s autumn/winter collection. And she’s not afraid to create either. In 2018, Ora worked with fashion designer Giuseppe Zanotti to launch her very own capsule footwear collection.

These days, she’s a fashion week front row regular – and we suspect we will be seeing a lot more of husband Waititi too.

Luxury life in London

While the couple have spent much of their first year of marriage on the road, multiple reports suggest Ora and Waititi have settled in London, where the singer owns a US$10 million, Grade II-listed London home built in 1877. According to Architectural Digest, it was once home to illustrator Arthur Rackham, whose work includes Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Peter Pan.

Waititi, on the other hand, was based in Los Angeles with ex-wife Chelsea Winstanley, and the couple bought a 2,300 sq ft property in the Studio City for US$2.4 million in 2018. They’ve since sold it, with Winstanley returning to her native New Zealand after the split.
