More British royal family bombshells are in the offing, as Omid Scobie’s anticipated new book Endgame is set to be released this November 28.

Described as an “explosive” book covering the current state of the monarchy – featuring chapters about Queen Elizabeth’s final days, the disgrace of Prince Andrew and, of course, Meghan and Harry’s relationships with them all – Scobie’s work is set to unveil more secrets of the inner workings of the most famous royal family in the world.

However, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, whose pictures are on the cover of the book, have been quick to distance themselves from the content, according to British media.

Amid news of the Sussexes’ response, Scobie then took to X, formerly known as Twitter, writing, “And let’s get this nonsense out the way – #Endgame is about the current state of the British Royal Family.”

He added, “It’s not ‘Harry and Meghan’s book’, I’m not ‘Meg’s pal’, the Sussexes have nothing to do with it, their story is a small part of a much bigger one.”

Markle, meanwhile, seems unbothered; she made an appearance at the Variety Power of Women in Hollywood event on Thursday, as per GeoTV. She chatted to ET, calling the event “so great”. The source states that it’s her first night out for a Hollywood event since she signed with WME talent agency. She didn’t comment on the book.

British media have previously called Scobie “Meghan Markle’s mouthpiece”, describing him as “very close” to the Duchess of Sussex at one point. For the Suits actress’ last solo appearance as a working royal, Scobie was one of only three journalists invited to the engagement, and he said he shared a “big farewell hug” with Markle at Buckingham Palace.

As they embraced, Scobie recalls Markle saying “It didn’t have to be this way.”

Although he is considered a fan of the royal couple, Scobie testified in court earlier this year during Prince Harry’s hearing against a British group of newspapers, that he didn’t have a personal relationship with Harry or Meghan.

Scobie said, “I don’t have a close relationship [with the Duke and Duchess] personally,” before adding, “It’s got to the point that when I get press releases from Harry and Meghan’s people, I wait for other people to post it first so I don’t have to deal with the Daily Mail articles saying that it came from me.”

What are some of the revelations so far in Omid Scobie’s book Endgame?

Snippets from Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival have already been unleashed prior to its release to People magazine. From the impact of the queen’s death on Harry, to the fact that there’s “no going back” for William and Harry’s relationship, it seems Scobie hasn’t held back.

Among other revelations, Scobie says the real reason Prince Harry left the royal family was because he was seen as a threat: “In the eyes of some within the institution, Harry is a threat to the crown. His freedom to exert his own thinking outside of the confines of the institution has made him the enemy,” he asserts.

However it seems like there might still be room for building bridges when it comes to Harry and Meghan’s relationship with Harry’s father, King Charles.

According to the The Telegraph, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex called Britain’s monarch on his birthday on November 14, marking a turning point in their possible reconciliation. The call also came just a couple of days before The Crown’s season six was released to the public, which focuses on Princess Diana’s story and was released on November 16.
