Kim Kardashian once famously lost 30kg (60 pounds) on an Atkins 40 diet after giving birth to her son Saint West in 2015, so it’s safe to say that the star has always been conscious about what she’s putting into her body.

These days, the global reality television and fashion icon is sticking mostly to a plant-based diet, and has at times credited her culinary habits for her infamous figure. But that doesn’t mean the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star would forsake a good night out with her friends, partner or family.

We’ve rounded up a list of the 43-year-old businesswoman’s favourite restaurants, from the Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant Nobu to the hotel where she celebrated her daughter North West’s birthday.

1. Jon and Vinny’s

This East Coast-style Italian spot has been one of the most hyped restaurants in LA since opening in 2015. The no-frills pastas and thin pizzas are beloved by the picky California crowd, meaning it’s difficult to find a seat at the joint without a reservation at night.

Kardashian and her ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson were spotted at the restaurant a few times when they dated last year. According to Insider, they ordered salads, pastas and meatballs. Per TMZ, they also ordered a pizza named after Kanye West, the “ham and yeezy”, although it’s now listed as “ham and eazy” on the restaurant’s menu online – still a reference to Ye. The pizza has smoked ham, vodka sauce, red onion, caciocavallo, mozzarella and pickled Fresno chilis.

2. Beverly Hills Hotel

Kardashian was spotted with Davidson and her pals several times at the hotel. In June this year, she also hosted a pink pyjama party for her daughter North’s 10th birthday party. According to E! Online, the slumber party featured a cheese board and a tray of chocolate-covered strawberries and macrons.

3. Nobu in Malibu

One of Kardashian’s favourite places to eat out at is the internationally renowned Japanese-Peruvian restaurant Nobu, which has locations around the world, including London, Hong Kong and Milan.

At the Malibu branch, where Kardashian is most often seen, the beachfront space boasts a view of the ocean. The fusion restaurant adopts a contemporary take on traditional Japanese cuisine using Peruvian ingredients. Popular dishes include the fried rock shrimp tempura with spicy mayo and miso-marinated black cod.

Kardashian has long been a fan of Japan, having visited the country several times, and eating at Nobu may be her way of reminiscing about her trips.

Kardashian told Today hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager that while she doesn’t usually drink, she does enjoy the lychee martini at Nobu – which, of course, prompted a slew of recipes and TikToks of the martini.

4. Sugarfish

When in Los Angeles, Kardashian is regularly spotted at Sugarfish. The elite sushi joint is co-owned by chef Kazunori Nozawa, who popularised omakase – chef’s choice tasting menus – in Hollywood.

At some of Nozawa’s restaurants, the chef reportedly implements strict rules, like no mobile phones and no loud talking during the tasting, and he once ejected Charlize Theron from his sushi restaurant, per The New York Times.

Nozawa visits the fish market every morning to choose what to serve at Sugarfish. He pays extra attention to his preparation of rice. The chef says the airiness of the rice is key to good sushi, served warm and loosely packed beneath the fish, according to the restaurant’s website.

When she’s not in the mood for salads or sushi, Kardashian enjoys hearty Middle Eastern food. In fact, Kardashian loves Carousel so much that she reportedly celebrated her 37th birthday with her family at the restaurant, which serves traditional Lebanese dishes.

The restaurant prides itself on its recipes that have been passed on from generation to generation, according to its website. From kebabs to hummus and falafel, the menu is filled with meze options that are ideal for family sharing.

6. Health Nut

Everybody who has watched The Kardashians reality show knows that the stars have a love for “shake salads”. Kardashian and the rest of the cast have repeatedly expressed their love for the salads from Health Nut, a Los Angeles chain that Kris Jenner recently started investing in.

Kardashian usually goes for the Chinese chicken salad, which has shredded chicken breast, dry chow mein noodles, pickled ginger and carrots with sesame dressing. The eatery itself isn’t fancy, but the salads are known to fill the stomachs of many a celebrity. Khloé Kardashian adds avocado to the Chinese chicken salad, making it a popular add-on from the menu for customers.
