Dozens of high-profile celebrity power couples have called it quits in 2023.

From Meryl Streep and Don Gummer’s 45-year marriage, to Taylor Swift and Matty Healy’s month-long fling, here are 2023’s 10 biggest celebrity splits.

1. Gigi Paris and Glen Powell

Top Gun: Maverick actor Glen Powell and model Gigi Paris officially ended their three-year relationship in the spring because of long distance, per People magazine.

Although the break-up came after months of speculation about the chemistry between Powell and his Anyone But You co-star Sydney Sweeney, the sources who spoke to People said the split had nothing to do with the Euphoria actress.

2. Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn

In April, Entertainment Tonight (ET) reported that Taylor Swift and actor Joe Alwyn had officially ended their six-year relationship.

An insider said the break-up was nothing dramatic and that “the relationship had just run its course”, per ET.

3. Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix

Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix, from reality TV show Vanderpump Rules, ended their nine-year relationship in March after it was discovered that Sandoval had cheated on Madix with their co-star from the show, Raquel Leviss.

7. Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford

Billie Eilish and The Neighbourhood frontman Jesse Rutherford confirmed their split in May after seven months of dating. The relationship had been criticised by some for the pair’s 10-year age gap (Rutherford is older than 21-year-old Eilish), but according to People, the pair remain good friends.

8. Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun

In February, it was reported that Avril Lavigne and rapper Mod Sun had broken up less than a year after getting engaged.

It seemed Mod Sun wasn’t immediately aware of this development in his relationship as, according to People, his rep released a statement saying, “They were together and engaged as of three days ago when Mod left for tour, so if anything has changed, that’s news to him.”
