The Disney Channel has confirmed that the much-loved series Wizards of Waverly Place is getting a reboot this year, with David Henrie set to reprise his role as Justin Russo and Selena Gomez, who skyrocketed to fame with her role as the rebellious and talented Alex Russo, also gracing the series – although in a limited capacity as a guest star in the pilot episode.

As the Russo family gears up for another spellbinding adventure, it’s time to catch up with the original cast and see what they’ve been up to since they last visited Waverly Place.

1. Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez, 31, truly cast a spell on the entertainment world. Post-Wizards, she’s released numerous global music hits and captivated viewers as both a star and executive producer of the hit series Only Murders in the Building.

She also hosted the HBO Max cooking show Selena + Chef and even launched her own beauty brand, Rare Beauty, a line committed to inclusivity and mental health advocacy.
Recently, she revealed some personal news on Instagram, confirming her relationship with record producer and actor Benny Blanco, 35, showcasing a side of her life she often keeps private.

2. David Henrie

Known for his role as Justin Russo, David Henrie, 34, has diversified his talents post-show. He extended his acting career with a part as a son on How I Met Your Mother, ventured into films like Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 and made his notable directorial debut with the coming-of-age movie This is the Year.

Now, married and a father to three children, Henrie is set to re-enter the magical world of Waverly Place not only as an actor but also as an executive producer, bringing his rich experience in the industry to shape the new series.

3. Jake T. Austin

He also made his mark on Freeform’s The Fosters during its initial two seasons. He also ventured into the world of dance as a contestant on season 23 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
