Meet former US House speaker Nancy Pelosi’s youngest daughter Alexandra: the Emmy-nominated filmmaker is a prolific documentarian and describes herself as the ‘paparazzi of the family’

The youngest Pelosi’s 2022 documentary, Pelosi in the House, includes recordings she made of the January 2021 US Capitol attack – footage that was later used during an investigation into the riots

A political stalwart, the mother of five has spoken about how raising her children prepared her for a life on Capitol Hill.
Pelosi’s youngest, Alexandra, seems to have inherited her mother’s strong-willed nature. An Emmy-nominated filmmaker, Alexandra even released a documentary about her mum without her permission.

Here’s everything you need to know about Alexandra Pelosi.
She’s the baby of the family

Nancy and Paul Pelosi have five children together, with Alexandra being the baby of the family. The children were born in the space of just six years, between 1964 and 1970, and in an interview with The New York Times, Alexandra said they are all “very different”. Growing up, per Vanity Fair, the Pelosi kids lived by a mantra instilled in them by their mother: “Proper preparation prevents poor performance.”
She’s an Emmy-nominated filmmaker

Alexandra Pelosi spent a decade as a field producer for NBC News, where she discovered her love of documentary filmmaking. Her breakthrough came with 2002’s Journeys with George, a documentary detailing George W. Bush’s 2000 presidential campaign. The film received six Emmy nominations, earning Pelosi acceptance in the industry. She has gone on to release 15 more documentaries, including American Selfie: One Nation Shoots Itself (2020), which chronicled the pandemic in the US.
