Meet Patrick Ball, who plays Dr Frank Langdon in HBO Max’s The Pitt

He was known as the ‘Shakespeare guy’ at Yale School of Drama before playing Dr Langdon in The Pitt – and his girlfriend’s in the show too

One of the major personal conflicts in The Pitt centres on the relationship between senior attending physician Dr Michael Robinavitch (Wyle) and senior resident Dr Frank Langdon (Ball). The two doctors had a falling out in the first season, which ended with the latter exiting the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Centre, though he temporarily returned. He then took some time for rehab, and now, he’s clocking back in for good.
