Viral stars Alex Consani, Awar Odhiang and Bhavitha Mandava turned heads at Matthieu Blazy’s show – but all eyes were on the silver-haired Cavalli

The fashion set might be gearing up for New York Fashion Week, which kicks off on February 11, but we’re still not over the stunning designs showcased at Paris Haute Couture Week for spring/summer 2026. Matthieu Blazy’s avian-inspired Chanel haute couture debut at the event was one of the buzziest shows at the French capital – even more so because of the diversity of models the French designer sent down the runway.
Viral stars Alex Consani, Awar Odhiang and Bhavitha Mandava turned heads in Blazy’s creations, but a line-up of older models stole the spotlight. This included Christina Chung, who’s nearing 60, 52-year-old Laura Ponte, 47-year-old Charlotte Eta Mumm and 46-year-old Noémie Lenoir. The show was also opened by a silver-haired model – Stephanie Cavalli, aged 49.

“They have life; they’ve seen the world,” Blazy said, per The New York Times, as he gushed over his mature models who “bring a completely different dimension to the clothes”.

So, who is Stephanie Cavalli, who’s going grey by choice?

Cavalli is half-Caribbean and half-Italian, according to art and culture magazine Brutjournal. Her father was an antique collector with whom she would trawl through Roman flea markets for vintage clothes, per fashion magazine As If. “I remember the feeling of walking into antique shops and feeling the wonder of all different things, and the more I looked, the more I found treasures,” she recalled.

She moved to the States in 2002 and now splits her time between Paris and New York, per Elle. She is married to “tattooer” Elvio Critelli, who was born in Italy, and they have three sons, one of whom is Cavalli’s stepson. Besides modelling, she runs her own vintage boutique in Callicoon, New York, called La Garçonne.
