Yellowstone’s spin-off series, Marshals, sees Luke Grimes reprise his role as Kayce Dutton – but what do we know about newcomer Ash Santos?

Yellowstone’s spin-off series, Marshals, sees actor Luke Grimes reprise his role as Kayce Dutton, the youngest son of John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who owns the largest ranch in Montana – Yellowstone Ranch.

In the show’s premiere, which aired on March 1, we see Kayce leave behind the ranch life following the tragic death of his wife Monica (Kelsey Asbille), after receiving the offer to join an elite team of US Marshals led by Pete “Cal” Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), a friend from Kayce’s Navy Seal days.

Fans of Yellowstone will be happy to see some familiar faces, including Gil Birmingham, who features in all five seasons of the hit neo-western. However, the show also has a refreshing new set of cast members, including Ash Santos, who stars as Andrea Cruz, one of the four members on Cal’s team.

Ashley Marie Santos was born in June 1993, and is of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent. Santos began performing at a young age but shifted her focus towards sport, according to Slash Film.

It was during her college years that she rediscovered her love for acting and started auditioning and booking roles. She kick-started her career in commercials and television films and made her on-screen acting debut with a role in the 2015 film Once I Was a Beehive, and has starred in shows such as American Horror Story.

In 2018, she relocated to Los Angeles to continue pursuing her dream of becoming an actress.
