Fans were delighted to see the return of Alexa Demie and her character, Maddy Perez, in the first episode of the latest season. Known for her fashion sense and magnetic on-screen presence, Demie was projected to be Hollywood’s next “It” girl when the show first debuted.
However, to everyone’s surprise, the 35-year-old seemed to disappear from Hollywood. Her comeback in Euphoria’s latest season marks her first on-screen appearance in almost two years.
The actress, known for her sharp eyeliner and Bratz doll-like aesthetic on the red carpet, also garnered online attention with a minimalist clean-girl look at the season’s Los Angeles premiere on April 7.

Her first foray into Hollywood was as a designer
Demie was born in December 1990. Her mother, Rose Mendez, is a make-up artist whose family immigrated to Los Angeles from Mexico, according to The New York Times.
Demie revealed in an interview with InStyle that her mother was a fashion enthusiast, so she grew up surrounded by fashion magazines, which naturally shaped her interests growing up.
During her high school years, Demie would rework sunglasses, decorating them with jewels, per Seventeen Magazine. She eventually launched her own sunglasses collection, Mainframe. A friend who worked at a store on Melrose Avenue helped her start selling her designs, and soon sales began to skyrocket, reports Dazed.
Demie’s designs were also sported by celebrities such as G-Dragon, Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Lopez.
