Taylor Sheridan’s TV universe just got a brand new addition: Dutton Ranch, and it’s already the third most-watched TV show on Paramount+, according to streaming data collection website FlixPatrol. The Yellowstone spin-off and sequel, which premiered on May 15, is the fifth series in the franchise. The story follows Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler as they begin a fresh chapter in South Texas.
“Beth and Rip were always such warriors, and they’re hoping that they may not have to be warriors,” Reilly shared in an interview with People. The 48-year-old actress is executive-producing the show alongside Hauser and Sheridan, while Chad Feehan has taken on the role of showrunner.

Finn Little is reprising his role as Beth and Rip’s adopted son, Carter, while Annette Bening has joined the cast as Beulah Jackson, a rival rancher whom Beth calls “the grizzly in Gucci”. Other Duttonverse newcomers include Ed Harris, Jai Courtney, Marc Menchaca and Juan Pablo Raba. Landman star J.R. Villarreal also appears as Rip’s right-hand man, Azul.

How did J.R. Villarreal get into acting?

Juan Villarreal Jr was born on September 28, 1992, in Houston, Texas to Mexican parents. He caught the acting bug at a young age after watching Jim Carrey movies, he revealed in an interview on the YouTube channel ATF. “Why decide one thing I want to do for the rest of my life when I could maybe be an actor and do everything?” he recalled thinking. At the age of 10, Villarreal moved to Hollywood and embarked on an acting career.
