All eyes are on the Fifa Men’s World Cup this summer – and that includes not just the players, but their wives and girlfriends too. One of the most important members of the French team who many fans tip to win the tournament is Ousmane Dembélé, winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or – an award given to the player judged to be the best in the world over the past season. Fans have noted his improvement over the past few years, and many attribute this to a new-found maturity and the influence of his wife.
While the stereotype is for WAGs to show off – or get shown off – Rima Edbouche has kept quite a low-key life, staying out of the spotlight despite being married to one of football’s most famous names. Here’s what you need to know about Dembélé’s wife.

Edbouche has Moroccan roots and can speak six languages, including French, English and Arabic.

In December 2021, Edbouche and Dembélé got married in a traditional Moroccan wedding. The news shocked fans at the time, as many were unaware that the football player was in a relationship. Photos and videos of the ceremony circulated on social media, showcasing the bride’s caftan (dress) and musicians playing traditional tunes. The couple themselves didn’t comment on the occasion online, however.

Although Edbouche rarely posts her face on social media, she still has quite the following on Instagram and TikTok. She has over 289,000 followers on TikTok and 367,000 followers on Instagram at the time of writing, where she posts modest lifestyle and fashion content.

She is also vocal about her faith on social media. She is often seen wearing traditional Islamic garments such as the hijab, preferring to practise modesty and maintain her privacy. Her husband is also a practising Muslim.

Additionally, Edbouche is an art student who appears to enjoy painting in her free time.
