Meet Greta Thunberg’s singer sister Beata Andersson, who’s working on her debut album

The rising Swedish artist, known as Beata MonaLisa on social media, has distanced herself from her older sibling’s fame by changing her surname
Twenty-three-year-old Greta Thunberg has been the face of climate change activism since she was 15 and started a solo school strike outside the Swedish parliament. In recent weeks, it has emerged that Thunberg has a younger sister, Beata Andersson, who is making her own mark on the world … in a very different way.

Here’s everything you need to know about Greta Thunberg’s younger sister.
She has been performing since she was young

Andersson was born in November 2005 to Malena Ernman and Svante Thunberg. Although Beata’s older sister Greta is the famous one in the family, it’s actually the aspiring songstress who is following in her parents’ footsteps, by making her foray into the entertainment industry.
Their mother Malena is a renowned Swedish mezzo-soprano opera singer who represented Sweden at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Dad Svante is an actor and producer.
Beata, who told Interview Magazine that she gets the second part of her name “MonaLisa” from her grandmother Mona, and great-grandmother Lisa, has been singing and dancing since she was just a toddler.
“I performed in shows at school and everyone thought I was annoying. I was bullied by everyone,” she told Interview Magazine.
