Josh Hamilton was born on June 9, 1969, to director and actor Dan Hamilton and actress Sandra Kingsbury. The couple later divorced, and both remarried.

Following in his parents’ footsteps, Hamilton studied theatre at Brown University. In 1977, Hamilton made his on-screen debut in A Good Dissonance Like a Man, a biographical film on American composer and businessman Charles Ives. The film was directed by Hamilton’s stepfather, Theodor Timreck. Hamilton’s mother, Kingsbury, also starred in the film.

Since his debut, Hamilton has gone on to act in over 100 on-screen projects. He received the Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Special award at the 1992 Daytime Emmys for his performance in CBS Schoolbreak Special.

The 57-year-old has also appeared in TV shows such as American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, 13 Reasons Why and more. Aside from on-screen projects, Hamilton is also an accomplished stage actor and is credited with roles in productions such as The Real Thing (2015), Dead Accounts (2013) and The Coast of Utopia (2007).
