Newer football fans might be surprised to learn that the sport runs deep in the Haaland family. Erling’s father, Alfie Haaland, enjoyed a successful professional career of his own. Most notably, both father and son have represented Norway at the World Cup.

Alfie Haaland played football in England and Norway
Alf-Inge Rasdal Håland, more commonly known as Alfie Haaland, was born in Stavanger on November 23, 1972. He was raised in Bryne, where he first started playing football and progressed through different youth teams. In 1989, aged 17, he made his debut with Bryne.
He was captain of Norway’s Under-21s before he got scouted by Nottingham Forest, where he then played for four years until 1997. During this time, he represented Norway at the 1994 Fifa World Cup, where the team just missed reaching the knockout stage.
