Dubbed ‘the queen of RichTok’, Rebecca Ma splurged over US$6 million on her recent Italian nuptials – but her wedding invitations have the internet talking, too ...
In a lavish multi-day celebration that drew millions of views online, TikTok influencer Becca Bloom (real name Rebecca Ma) married software engineer David Pownall at Villa Balbiano on Lake Como, Italy, on August 28.

Bloom – known on the platform as the “queen of RichTok” for her videos blending luxury lifestyle content with personal finance tips – spent more than US$6 million on the wedding, according to Elle Australia.

Bloom wore a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown embroidered with laser-cut peonies for the ceremony, and accessorised with high jewellery pieces from Van Cleef & Arpels – and her Tiffany Victoria wedding ring, of course. Pownall complemented her in a chic Thom Browne suit.

The wedding wasn’t without its hiccups, however. Before the lavish event, keen-eyed netizens noticed embarrassing grammatical errors on the couple’s ornate wedding invitations. The stationery included the phrase, “Request the pleasure of your company of your presence,” alongside the unusually formal, “Three Thirty O’Clock in the Afternoon.”
Despite this faux pas, the intimate celebration on Lake Como – a spot also chosen by the likes of George Clooney and Chrissy Teigen for their weddings – went off without a hitch. Here’s everything you need to know about the RichTok star’s new husband, David Pownall.
Who is David Pownall?

Pownall graduated from the University of British Columbia and previously worked as a software engineer at Google, per Town & Country. These days, he’s a software developer at Amazon.
