Will Porsche’s US$210,000 Panamera hybrid supercar estate become a family favourite?

The German carmaker’s Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo is one of 18 different Panamera versions, so how does it shape up? asks Benjamin Zhang
The Porsche Panamera is one of our favourites. In fact, the Panamera saloon won the 2017 Business Insider Car of the Year award.
Yet the German carmaker is not one to rest on its laurels. Porsche is known to offer its cars in a multitude of “flavours”. Right now, you can choose from more than two dozen variations of its 911 sports car.
So it’s not all that surprising when I tell you that there are 18 versions of the Panamera on sale in the United States.
They range from the US$86,300 base Panamera saloon to the Turbo S E-Hybrid Executive saloon which costs from US$196,600.

There is also a multitude of Sport Turismo estate variants in the mix as well.
And power output ranges from a stout 330 horsepower in the basic Panamera to a supercar-shaming 680 ponies in the Turbo S E-Hybrid.
Recently, we got a chance to experience “peak Panamera” when Porsche dropped off a 2018 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo at our suburban New Jersey road test centre, in the US.
