Four space-themed customised designs – including the ultra-luxe Universe Diamond – created by the Russian luxury jewellery brand Caviar, have been unveiled weeks before the September launch of Apple’s latest smartphone

We are still a couple of weeks away from Apple’s highly anticipated event where the American technology company’s brand new iPhone 11 is expected to be launched.

In the run-up to the mid-September launch, all the major technology blogs and websites have already published lots of stories on the rumoured specifications and design features of the new smartphone.

However, Caviar, the Russian luxury customisation jewellery brand, has gone one step further and announced a whole range of decorated case backs for the iPhone 11, which all appear to be based on the purported leaks and rumours now in circulation.

Caviar’s flagship variant is called the Universe Diamond and is decorated not only with precious stones but also a piece of a real spaceship and fragments of the moon and a meteorite.

The space-themed customised iPhone 11 showcases the manufacturer’s vision of a unique design inspired by the solar system, based the top-of-the-range version of Apple’s smartphone with three cameras at the rear.

The orbits are depicted on the case back with solid gold spheres, while the planets and other celestial bodies are present in the form of precious stones, which include diamond, Swiss blue topaz and ruby.

At the centre of the design is a real, mechanical watch with a tourbillon.

The Universe Diamond will be released as a single copy and which will cost US$49,990.

Caviar’s iPhone 11 line-up also has three more affordable options, starting from only US$4,400. One such option is the iPhone 11 Explorer version, which has a carved stone and titanium case that is designed to look like a satellite.

The Soyuz variant, on the other hand, is “a proud celebration of Russian and Soviet spacemen” and has a miniature version of the Russian satellite on the device’s case with a fragment of a genuine spacecraft that travelled to space.
