According to the New York Post, the news comes as Amber Group was on the cusp of landing a big investment, and was reportedly in the process of raising around US$100 million. Tiantian Kullander’s rise to crypto fame According to Crypto News, the Hong Kong based businessman was known to his friends and family as “TT”. In 2017, he launched Amber Group along with a group of pals from Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, reports Marca. TT worked as a trader at both finance giants prior to breaking off on his own. In 2019, TT cemented his name as a trader and cryptocurrency guru after bagging a spot on the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list alongside his co-founders, E! News reported. According to Lee Daily, Kullander had an estimated net worth of US$3 billion. Crypto king In crypto circles, TT was respected and admired. According to New York Post, Amber Group has achieved major success, with a massive US$3 billion valuation after scoring a US$200 million funding round earlier this year. In the statement from Amber Group, it said the businessman’s “insights and creativity inspired many projects, people and communities”. “TT’s legacy will live on and we will work even harder to make Amber the category-defining leader of our industry, as this was TT’s ambition and dream,” concluded the statement on the company’s website. The tribute also revealed that TT was married and a father, with Amber Group saying “TT was a devoted husband, a loving father and a fierce friend.
